History:

 
Just east of the the of Church of Saint Sergius and Bacchus and near Saint Barbara’s is the Ben-Ezra Synagogue. Originally it was a Coptic church but later, sold to the Jews when Ahmed Ibn Tulun extorted money from Patriarch Michael III. Known as the  oldest synagogue in Cairo, it hosted a collection of Jewish documents, which were extremely important and valuable to the Jewish faith.
it was referred to as the  Synagogue of the Palestinians and was also said to be the site where baby Moses was found.
The valuable documents were later archived and many can now be seen in Cambridge England and act as scholarly reading for young Jewish students.
