Day 1: Arrive Aswan - Oberoi Zahra Nile Cruise

You will be met and assisted on arrival at Aswan Airport and be transferred to your Oberoi Zahra Nile cruise for Embarkation. After lunch, your expert English speaking tour guide will escort you on a visit to discover the Aswan High Dam, built in the 1960’s to provide the much needed electricity and irrigation for the country. Nubia, the area which was flooded, experienced the biggest and most thorough archaeological excavations that Egypt has known.Then moving on to explore the Temple of Philae devoted to the two goddesses Isis and Hathor and one of the Nubian Temples rescued before the High Dam was built. Enjoy Philae’s long colonnades, towers and reliefs which include the last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions in Egypt. Dinner on board your Nile cruise and overnight in Aswan.

Day 2: Oberoi Zahra Nile Cruise - Sound and Light Show

Breakfast on board with an optional tour to incredible Abu simbel (early start required with breakfast box).The two Temples of Abu Simbel with their unique style are considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt reflecting the glory and grandeur of the New Kingdom. The Egyptian Government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these Temples from the floods during the period of reconstruction when the High Dam was built. The Temple of Ramses II (also called The Sun Temple), was dedicated to the four universal Gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Ra, and to Ramses II himself. Also The Temple of Queen Nefertari (the beloved wife of Ramses).
Morning optional tours also available in Aswan, Lunch on board with the afternoon to relax. After sunset, you will be escorted to the Philae Temples for the amazing ‘Sound and Light Show’, said to be the best of it’s kind throughout Egypt. Dinner on board and overnight in Aswan.

Day 3: Oberoi Zahra Nile Cruise Tours

Breakfast on board whilst sailing down the Nile to visit the Temple of Kom Ombo,Temple of Kom Ombo standing on high grounds overlooking the Nile. It differs from other Temples because of its double entrance, each one is dedicated to a divinity: ‘Haroeris’ with his falcon head and ‘ Sobek ‘ with it’s crocodile head. The Temple of Kom Ombo was built in honor of these two deities, Sobek being known as the God of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris or the ancient falcon-headed Horus.
Sail back to Aswan with lunch and some early afternoon leisure time before paying a delightful visit over the Cataract Islands to Lord Kitcheners Botanical Gardens in a local traditional Felucca boat. In the year of 1899 lord Kitchener took the Island as a place where his campaign could rest, and called it the ‘Lord's House’. After his death, this island belonged to the ministry of agriculture. Back to your Oberoi Nile cruise for the rest of the afternoon to relax and take a spa session. Evening dinner will include a cocktail reception with entertainment on board. Overnight in Aswan

Day 4: Oberoi Zahra Nile Cruise - Excursion to Edfu

A leisurely start with breakfast and sailing along the Nile with excellent views of daily life unchanged for centuries. Time for a spa session with lunch at midday. Continue sailing with afternoon tea on the top deck. Around 3:30 p.m to to 5:00 pm, you will visit the Temple of Edfu, an awe inspiring Temple dedicated to the God Horus (falcon headed God) and one of the best preserved Temples along the Nile.Dinner on board and overnight in Edfu.

Day 5: Luxor Nile Cruise Tours

Breakfast on board then around 9.00am, enjoy a relaxing sail along the Nile taking in all of the breathtaking scenery of daily life unchanged for centuries. Free morning and Spa time before lunch, then you will be escorted by your expert English speaking tour Guide to visit the famous Karnak Temple and Museum in Luxor. Karnak Temple is the world's largest ancient religious site. The hypostyle hall with its colossal granite columns is one of Egypt’s infamous landmarks. Following this, a tour to the Luxor Museum along the newly refurbished Corniche It hosts an amazing display of pottery, jewelry, furniture, statues and stelae which were created by the Brooklyn Museum of New York. They include a carefully selected assortment of items from the Theban Temples and Necropolis. Then the new extension of the building called the New Kingdom, is dedicated to war machines featuring Tut-AnkhAmun’s war chariot. Best of all there are also two royal Mummies, that of Ahmosis I and what is believed to be that of Ramses. Back to the Oberoi Zahra Nile Cruise for evening dinner with time for an Optional Tour of the Karnak Sound and Light Show if you would like to make the most of your time in Luxor.
