A whole free day at your beachfront resort lets you slow down before you return to Cairo for a Nile dinner cruise on your final evening.
This luxury vacation to the Pyramids and the Red Sea is aimed chiefly at divers qualified to PADI Open Water level or equivalent, whether you’ve just passed your course or have plenty of recreational dives behind you. Expect up to eight guided dives over bright, fish-filled coral reefs. Never dived before? You can swap the certified programme for an introductory dive with an instructor at suitable shallow reefs, with no qualification needed. Partners who don’t dive are welcome to join the boat trips to snorkel or simply enjoy the sun, subject to availability and sea conditions. As you arrive at Cairo International Airport, a Memphis Tours representative holding a name sign will meet you at Immigration and Customs and help you through the arrival formalities. You’ll then travel by private, air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel. Your representative will help with check-in, run through the itinerary and confirm the collection times for your tours. The rest of the day is yours to settle in.

Following breakfast, your private Egyptologist guide collects you for a morning on the Giza Plateau. Stand at the foot of the Great Pyramids, enjoy the sweeping desert views from the panoramic viewpoint and meet the gaze of the Great Sphinx, one of the most recognisable monuments of the ancient world.
After lunch at a local restaurant, head to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), where Tutankhamun’s treasures and thousands of other artefacts tell the story of the pharaohs. A private vehicle then returns you to your hotel, and the evening is free.

Good to know: Entry inside the Great Pyramid is an extra cost. There’s quite a lot of walking today, partly on uneven ground, so wear comfortable shoes and bring a hat and sun cream.
After breakfast, transfer to Cairo Airport for your included flight to Hurghada. A private driver meets you on arrival and takes you to your beachfront resort on the Red Sea.
Next, you’ll sit down with the professional Memphis Tours dive team for a personal orientation. They’ll check your qualification and recent diving experience, fit your kit and explain the diving programme for the days ahead. First-time divers and anyone doing the optional PADI Open Water course receive a briefing tailored to their activities.
The rest of the day is free for the beach or the resort before your diving begins.

Good to know: Bring your diving qualification card and logbook, plus a medical clearance if you need one. Standard diving kit is included, so please send your sizes before you travel. Domestic flight baggage: 23 kg checked baggage and 7 kg cabin baggage per person, subject to airline rules.
After breakfast, transfer from the resort to the marina and board a comfortable shared dive boat with the Memphis Tours dive team. The day opens with a gentle orientation and check dive, giving you time to get used to your kit, fine-tune your buoyancy and ease into the Red Sea’s underwater world.
Following lunch on board, make a second guided dive if conditions allow, drifting at an easy pace over colourful coral gardens full of life. Non-divers can snorkel at suitable spots or relax on deck. You’ll be back at your hotel in the afternoon, with time to unwind before dinner.

With your first day of diving behind you, it’s back out to sea. The dive team selects two sites rich in coral and marine life, so you can relax, polish your skills and enjoy longer, more assured dives. Watch out for parrotfish, angelfish and moray eels, and with luck, turtles. Between dives, enjoy lunch and drinks on deck. You’ll return to the hotel with the evening free.

Your third day with the Memphis Tours dive team takes you further afield. Now that you’ve found your rhythm, discover more of Hurghada’s varied underwater landscapes, from coral gardens to sheltered island reefs, at sites chosen for the day’s wind, visibility and sea state. Make two guided dives if conditions allow, with plenty of time to take in the marine life. Between dives, enjoy a freshly prepared lunch on deck with tea, coffee and soft drinks. Non-divers can snorkel at suitable spots or relax on board. Return to your resort for dinner.

Set out for your fourth and final day at sea with the Memphis Tours dive team. Morning and afternoon dives reveal more of Hurghada’s reefs, at sites chosen to make the most of the weather and to steer clear of the busiest spots. Dive at your own pace alongside professional guides, then enjoy a final lunch on board as you head back to the marina. Non-divers can snorkel at suitable spots or relax on deck. Return to the hotel for a quiet evening.
