Day 1: Arrival Cairo - Welcome to land of the Pharaoh’s

Welcome to Egypt. You will be met and assisted on arrival at Cairo International Airport by our Memphis Tours Representative, then transferred by air conditioned vehicle to your Hotel for check in and a welcome drink. He will explain what to expect on your visit. Your Tour Leader will be your point of contact throughout the whole trip, and will give you details of how to contact him at any time whilst in Egypt and Jordan under the care of Memphis Tours. Throughout your Egypt and Jordan small group tour, in addition to the Tour Leader you will meet a variety of English-speaking Tour Guides, who have been chosen for their expertise on each of the areas you are visiting. After check-in you are free to spend the rest of the day / evening at your leisure. *There is an optional Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids.
Welcome Drink

Day 2: Pyramids and Cairo Sightseeing

Breakfast at your hotel in Cairo and then you will be picked up by your personal expert English speaking Tour Guide who will accompany you to Giza Plateau to visit one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinus, famous Sphinx at the Valley temple facing the great statue. Lunch will be served at a good quality local restaurant, then moving on to enjoy the Egyptian Antiquities Museum which hosts the treasure room of the boy king Tutankhamun. Also there is the Mummification room to explore (at additional charge). Continue to the area of Islamic Cairo to explore Khan El Khalili Bazaar, Cairo`s old bazaar where you have the opportunity to buy those lovely hand crafted souvenirs before driving back to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 3: Fly Cairo to Luxor - Nile Cruise Tour

Check out from your hotel after enjoying your breakfast, then transfer to Cairo Airport Domestic Terminal for your flight to Luxor where you will be met and assisted our Representative who will escort you by an air-conditioned vehicle to embark on your 5 star Nile cruise. After lunch on board, your Tour Guide will escort you to enjoy a visit to the impressive Karnak Temple, the world's largest ancient religious site. The hypostyle hall with its colossal granite columns is one of Egypt’s famous landmarks. There will be free time to explore the different parts of the huge complex built during the reigns of various Pharaohs. Then you will be transferred to the majestic Luxor Temple which built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for ritual and festivals and dedicated to the God Amun and you may wish to take advantage at night, of the optional evening ‘Sound and Light Show’ which tells the story of Luxor and Karnak.( Highly recommended).

Day 4: Luxor Nile Cruise Excursions

After enjoying a leisurely breakfast on board your Nile cruise boat, your expert Tour Guide will take you on a fascinating Nile journey to the West Bank of the River Nile to experience the original resting place of the world famous boy King Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings along with discovering the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (the only Female Pharaoh) at El Deir EL Bahari and the two towering statues of the Colossi of Memnon.(The three tombs visited are determined by the Egyptian Government as to preserve them from the large flow of visitors, therefore are rotated throughout the year and cannot be confirmed as to which tombs prior to your visit). For the rest of the day you will have free time to spend at leisure in Luxor to experience the traditional culture of the Upper Egyptians and optional tours available such as Kalesh or Felucca rides and Luxor City and Market. Overnight in Luxor.

Day 5: Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples

Today is a special day as you will begin your sailing along the beautiful tranquil Nile, unchanged for centuries with life going as as if nothing has changed. Scenic views of villages and locals along the banks make this a truly enjoyable experience.You will pass through the large Lock at Esna before arriving at Edfu. The huge Ptolemaic Temple of Horus at Edfu is the most complete and best preserved of the Egyptian Temples, consisting of many columns, halls, chambers and chapels. Two statues of Horus flank the twin towered entrance gate; and inside,one of the interesting inscriptions lists the titles of books (scrolls) held in the library. After the tour, sailing will continue with lunch and afternoon tea on board before reaching Kom Ombo. Here, your guide will accompany you to visit Kom Ombo Temple, the only ancient Temple in Egypt divided into two, reflecting its dedication to two Gods: Sobek, the Crocodile God of fertility; and the falcon-headed Horus, God of the sky. Kom Ombo is also famous for the depictions of surgeon's instruments, giving us an early record of medicine and surgery in Ancient Egypt. Finally you will sail on to Aswan under the large structure of Aswan Bridge known as the Gateway to ‘Nubia’. Arriving in Aswan for an overnight stay and dinner on board your Nile Cruise.

Day 6: Aswan Nile Cruise Tours

After breakfast on board your Nile Cruise, enjoy a day’s sightseeing in Aswan. Starting with the Aswan High Dam, built in the 1960’s to provide the much needed electricity and irrigation for the country. Nubia, the area which was flooded, experienced the biggest and most thorough archaeological excavations that Egypt has known. Then you will go to view the ‘Unfinished Obelisk’ which still lies in the granite quarries which provided ancient Egypt with building materials. It would have been the largest piece of stone ever handled but when a crack was discovered it was abandoned where it was being hewn. Cross by boat to Angilika Island, to see the Temple of Isis at Philae which is devoted to the two goddesses Isis and Hathor and one of the Nubian Temples rescued before the High Dam was built. Enjoy Philae’s long colonnades, towers and reliefs which include the last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions in Egypt. Dinner and overnight on board your Nile Cruise. There is an optional tour to see the Philae Temple Sound and Light Show in the evening.

Day 7: Fly Aswan to Cairo

Farewell and Disembarkation from your Nile Cruise after breakfast, then you will be transferred to Aswan Airport for your return to Cairo where you will be met and assisted at the airport by a Representative then taken to your hotel with overnight stay in Cairo.

Day 8: Cairo - Free Day

Breakfast at your Hotel in Cairo with free day at leisure around your Hotel, on the swimming pool or many of the optional excursions available in Cairo. Overnight stay at your Hotel in Cairo.

Day 9: Fly Cairo to Amman - Hello Jordan

Breakfast at your Hotel in Cairo and then you will be met and assisted by a Representative and transferred to Cairo international Airport to fly to Amman in Jordan. Upon arrival at the Airport in Jordan, our Representative will meet and assist you through the customs and immigration procedures. Transfer to the hotel in Amman for free welcome drink and check in with free leisure time in Amman and overnight stay.

Day 10: Tour to Wadi Rum – Petra Hotel

Breakfast at your hotel in Amman, then you will be escorted to the protected area of Wadi Rum, one of the most impressing desert landscapes in the World. The area was made famous in the west by Lawrence of Arabia who described it as "vast, echoing and god-like". Discover the area featured by rugged mountains and coloured sand dunes during a 4x4 Jeep tour, enjoy canyosns, sand dunes and rock inscriptions. After that transfer to your hotel in Petra for an overnight stay.

Day 11: Visit The Ancient City of Petra - Amman

After breakfast, the big event of your Jordan tour. A drive through the scenic valleys and desert to explore Petra, the most famous and visited site known as Red Rose Rock City. the biggest attraction in Jordan. Petra is an enormous cave and City structure built in the rock face,first established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs, a Nomadic tribe who settled in the area. Choose from a horse ride or by foot reach the vast canyons (the Siq), and then walk or ride through the most incredible monument known as the Treasury. Other Monuments are the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle. Afterwards you will be driven to your hotel in Amman for overnight stay.

Day 12: Madaba, Nebo & Dead Sea Tour

Breakfast, then with your Tour Guide and driver then driven to the town of Madaba, where you will discover the ancient wonder, a beautifully crafted 6th century Mosaic in the floor of the Old Greek Orthodox Church of Saint George, which is a map of depicting the biblical regions from Libya to Egypt. . After that, a stunning view of Mount Nebo, the location where the Holy Prophet Moses was said to have gazed across at the Promised Land. He is said to have been buried at this place. An old Monastery overlooking the Jordan Valley, along with the Dead Sea and parts of the Holy Land are the next stop on your tour. Finally, a drive to what is known as the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea. Here you have leisure time and the chance to float on the famous water’s known to ‘float’ a person and not sink! Also, it is known for it’s mineral and mud properties for therapeutic benefits. Then you will be transferred back to Amman for free leisure time and relaxation. Overnight at your hotel in Amman.

Day 13: Amman - Fly Back Home

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Queen Alia International Airport in Amman for final departure.
