Day 1: Arrive Cairo ‘Welcome to Egypt’

Upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met by your Memphis Tours Representative who will accompany you to your hotel in Cairo for check-in and a free welcome drink. There you will be introduced to your Tour Manager for the holiday in Egypt, who will explain what to expect on your visit and will be your point of contact throughout the whole Cairo Aswan Luxor holiday. He and will give you details of how to contact him at any time whilst in Egypt under the care of Memphis Tours. Throughout your holiday to Cairo Aswan Luxor, in addition to the Tour Manager you will meet a variety of English-speaking Tour Guides, who have been chosen for their expertise on each of the areas you are visiting. After check-in you are free to spend the rest of the day/evening at your leisure. There is a wonderful opportunity to do an optional excursion to the Sound & Light Show on Giza Plateau, by the magnificent Pyramids.

Day 2: Pyramids and The Egyptian Museum

After a relaxing breakfast at your Hotel in Cairo, you will be accompanied by your private tour guide and driver to visit the famous Giza Plateau, home of Egypt’s greatest attractions to visit The Great Pyramids, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world including the Great Pyramid of Cheops, middle pyramids of Khephren and the little one of Mykerinos and The Mysterious Sphinx, the Father of Terror for the ancient pharaohs, this tour includes visit to the Valley Temple facing the Great Sphinx.
Then on the way you will have Lunch, then you will enjoy a visit to the world-renowned Museum of Egyptian Antiques that was built in neo-classical style designed by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon which exhibits a collection now over 120000 masterpieces ranges from pre-dynastic era, Pharaonic era to the Greco-Roman period in Egypt, learn about the great Egyptian civilization and the mummification art in ancient Egypt. You will gain free entry to the Mummification Room at the Museum. Enjoy your free time in Cairo, and then you will be transferred to your Hotel in Cairo for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Fly Cairo to Aswan - Tours in Aswan - Transfer to Luxor

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Cairo Airport Domestic Terminal for your short flight to Aswan. On arrival in Aswan, you will be met by a Representative and introduced to your Tour Guide who will then escort you on your tours in Aswan. Starting at the famous Aswan High Dam, built in the 1960’s to provide the much needed electricity and irrigation for the country. Nubia, the area that was flooded, experienced the biggest and most thorough archaeological excavations that Egypt has ever known. Then we go to see the ‘Unfinished Obelisk’ which still lies in the granite quarries which provided ancient Egypt with building materials. It would have been the largest piece of stone ever handled but when a crack was discovered it was abandoned where it was being hewn. Cross by boat to Angilika Island, to see the Temple of Isis at Philae which is one of the Nubian Temples rescued before the High Dam was built. Enjoy Philae’s long colonnades, towers and reliefs which include the last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions in Egypt. Then you will be transferred to an air conditioned vehicle and driven to Luxor (approximately 3 hours) by road. On arrival in Luxor, you will be checked in to a Hotel for a comfortable overnight stay. Free time in the evening (if not late arrival),to explore Luxor City and Market, or take the optional Sound and Light Show at karnak Temple.

Day 4: Luxor Tours - Fly to Cairo

Early breakfast, then check out of the Hotel with your Guide to explore the West Bank in Luxor, home to the renowned Valley of the Kings (archeological site of 62 Pharaohs including the Boy king Tutankhamun. Overall one of the most important archaeological sites in the world, a selection of the beautifully decorated rock-cut tombs, many of which still display vibrant colour and breathtaking detail of deities and scenes from the Book of the Underworld. The most visited tombs have walkways and electric lighting, and the internal walls are protected by glass where you will visit 3 tombs.A visit to the impressive colonnaded and terraced Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahri, which was built into a high cliff face and has graphics telling the story of Hatshepsut’s expeditions to the mysterious land of Punt. Lunch stop is provided then a tour of the two Temples on the East Bank known as Karnak Temple, the world's largest ancient religious site. The hypostyle hall with its colossal granite columns is one of Egypt’s infamous landmarks. There will be free time to explore the different parts of the huge complex built during the reigns of various Pharaohs, then moving to Luxor Temple, built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for rituals and festivals that were dedicated to the God Amon. Finally you will be transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Cairo - Fly Back Home

After breakfast you will have some free leisure time to spend in Cairo before being transferred back to Cairo international Airport for your flight home.
