Lake Cruise and The Nile Tour is an unusual combination of both the River Nile and Lake Nasser on a special offer Nile and Lake Cruises visiting sites not often discovered in Upper Egypt. This 10 day vacation allows you the time to explore the ‘off the beaten track’ Nubian Temples of Lake Nasser, along with the lovely sites in Colourful Nubian Aswan with the High Dam and more. Nile cruising included Temples enroute along with the renowned archeological sites in Luxor at the Valley of the Kings, Temples, and other sites.

Day 1: Arrival Luxor, Egypt - Nile Cruise Tour

A Memphis Tours Representative will meet and assist you upon arrival Luxor Airport and then transfer you to your Nile Cruise vessel in Luxor for embarkation before lunch. After lunch you can visit Luxor City as you have free time to explore with an optional Sound and Light Show in the evening at Karnak Temple. Dinner aboard cruise in the evening with free time at leisure and overnight stay.

Day 2: Luxor Nile Cruise Excursions

Breakfast on board the Nile cruise boat in Luxor and then you will be accompanied by your expert Egyptologist Tour Guide for a wonderful exploration of the West Bank in Luxor across the River Nile to the Valley of the Kings,original burial site of 62 Pharaohs including the boy King Tutankhamun.(The three tombs visited are determined by the Egyptian Government as to preserve them from the large flow of visitors, therefore are rotated throughout the year and cannot be confirmed as to which tombs prior to your visit) Discover the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (the only Female Pharaoh) at El Deir EL Bahari and the two towering statues of the Colossi of Memnon.).Please Note: There is an additional Charge to enter the Tombs of King Tutankhamun and Ramses VI.Transfer back to the cruise in Luxor. Sailing to Edfu via Esna Lock with dinner and overnight stay on board the Nile cruise vessel.

Day 3: Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples

Breakfast on board the Nile cruise boat and then you will be accompanied by your knowledgeable Guide to visit Horus Temple at Edfu.You will pass through the large Lock at Esna before arriving at Edfu. The huge Ptolemaic Temple of Horus at Edfu is the most complete and best preserved of the Egyptian Temples, consisting of many columns, halls, chambers and chapels. Two statues of Horus flank the twin towered entrance gate; and inside,one of the interesting inscriptions lists the titles of books (scrolls) held in the library. After the tour, sailing will continue with lunch and afternoon tea on board before reaching Kom Ombo. Here, your guide will accompany you to visit Kom Ombo Temple, the only ancient Temple in Egypt divided into two, reflecting its dedication to two Gods: Sobek, the Crocodile God of fertility; and the falcon-headed Horus, God of the sky. Kom Ombo is also famous for the depictions of surgeon's instruments, giving us an early record of medicine and surgery in Ancient Egypt. Finally you will sail on to Aswan under the large structure of Aswan Bridge known as the Gateway to ‘Nubia’. Arriving in Aswan for an overnight stay and dinner on board.

Day 4: Aswan Nile Cruise Tours

Breakfast on board the Nile cruise vessel then you will be escorted by your Egyptologist Tour Guide in Aswan for an amazing tour to visit the High Dam, built in the 1960’s to provide the much needed electricity and irrigation for the country. Nubia, the area which was flooded, experienced the biggest and most thorough archaeological excavations that Egypt has known. Then you will go to view the ‘Unfinished Obelisk’ which still lies in the granite quarries which provided ancient Egypt with building materials. It would have been the largest piece of stone ever handled but when a crack was discovered it was abandoned where it was being hewn. Cross by boat to Angilika Island, to see the Temple of Isis at Philae which is devoted to the two goddesses Isis and Hathor and one of the Nubian Temples rescued before the High Dam was built. Enjoy Philae’s long colonnades, towers and reliefs which include the last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions in Egypt. Enjoy Lunch, afternoon tea and overnight in Aswan.There is an optional Sound and Light Show at Philae Temple in the evening.

Day 5: Fly to Abu Simbel - Lake Cruise Tour

Breakfast on board your Nile cruise in Aswan followed by disembarkation and then you will be transferred to Aswan Airport to board the flight to Abu Simbel. Upon your arrival you will be met and transferred to board your lake Nasser Cruise Boat in Abu Simbel. Met and assisted upon arrival Abu Simbel. Lunch on Board before a visit Abu Simbel Temples, the two Temples of Abu Simbel with their unique style and considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt reflecting the glory and grandeur of the New Kingdom. The Egyptian Government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these Temples from the floods during the period of reconstruction when the High Dam was built. The Temple of Ramses II (also called The Sun Temple), was dedicated to the four universal Gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Ra, and to Ramses II himself. Also The Temple of Queen Nefertari (the beloved wife of Ramses). Afternoon tea back on board your Lake Cruise. There is an optional Visit to Sound & Light Show in the evening at Abu Simbel ( Highly recommended and considered the best Sound and Light Show in all Egypt). Dinner on Board and over night at Abu Simbel

Day 6: Lake Nasser Cruise Excursions

Enjoy breakfast on board your boat. Today you will sail to Kasr Ibrim You will have the opportunity to view the Citadel of Kasr Ibrim via the ship's sundeck (entrance is not permitted) . However, you can take some marvelous photographs from the sundeck of the boat. Following this, you will continue to sail to explore the Temple of Amada, Derr and the Tomb of Penout then sail on to Wadi El Seboua. In the evening after dinner, there will be a Cocktail Party on board with the Heads of Departments giving a Presentation along with a colourful Nubian Show (by the Staff). Overnight at Wadi El Seboua

Day 7: Lake Nasser Cruise Tours - Sail to Aswan

This morning after breakfast, you will visit the Temple of Wadi El Seboua, another Nubian Temple scattered along the shores of Lake Nasser. The lake is famous for its Nubian Temples which have a unique different style to the Pharaonic Temples around Egypt. After this, the Cruise will set sail for Aswan. On arrival, you will stay overnight in Aswan with free leisure time to explore sights in Aswan such as the vibrant Aswan Market ( souk) with its aroma of enchanting incense and spices.

Day 8: Lake Cruise Tours - Luxor Sightseeing

After breakfast in Aswan, you will disembark your Lake Cruise boat and with your Guide, head to visit Kalabsha Temple on the edge of Lake Nasser. After the tour, you will be transferred by road in your air conditioned vehicle to Luxor ( approximately 3 hours) with bottled water supplied enroute. Once arrived in Luxor at your Hotel, you will check in with free time at leisure at the Hotel before exploring the East Bank of the Nile in Luxor to KarnakTemple, , the world's largest ancient religious site. The hypostyle hall with its colossal granite columns is one of Egypt’s famous landmarks. There will be free time to explore the different parts of the huge complex built during the reigns of various Pharaohs. Then you will be transferred to the majestic Luxor Temple which built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for ritual and festivals and dedicated to the God Amun. You may wish to take advantage at night of the optional evening ‘Sound and Light Show’ which tells the story of Luxor and Karnak ( Highly recommended). Overnight in your Hotel at Luxor.

Day 9: Optional Tour to Dendera Temple

Breakfast at your Hotel in Luxor with free day at leisure in Luxor with optional excursion to visit Dendera temple which is dedicated to Goddess Hathor- cow headed woman and known by Goddess of Love then continue the tour to Temple of Abydos which was the head of God’s, Osiris- the God of underworld and part of his body was buried there according to the legend by ancient Egyptians. In Abydos you are going to visit the famous Temple of king Seti I, the founder of Abydos Temple which was completed by his son king Ramses II. The beauty of this Temple is that it almost feels like an apology and dedication to the following Gods: Osiris, Isis, Horus, Amun Ra, Mut and Khonsu. After finishing the tour you will be accompanied by your Guide and driver back to Luxor. Overnight in Luxor with free time to explore the City and markets.

Day 10: Luxor - Fly Back Home

Breakfast at your Hotel in Luxor with free time at leisure and then transfer to Luxor Airport to fly back home
