Day 01: Arrival Luxor, Egypt - Luxor Sightseeing

On arrival in Luxor you will be transferred from the Airport to your Hotel for Check in.Your memphis Tours Representative with inform you of your itinerary over the next few days. In the afternoon, you will be escorted by your English speaking professional Tour Guide for a tour of the East Bank. First stop will be Karnak Temple, the largest place of worship ever built. Its ancient name Ipet-isut means “The Most Sacred of Places”. The Temple or more correctly, the complex of Temples, was built over two thousand years ago by generation after generation of Pharaohs. Within the complex, the great “Hypostyle Hall” is an incredible forest of giant pillars.Karnak Temple was once linked to Luxor Temple by the spectacular ‘Avenue of Sphinx’ which is currently being reconstructed. and built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for ritual and festivals and dedicated to the god Amun. From here, you will move to Luxor Temple which was built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for rituals and festivals that was dedicated to the Gods.The famous Avenue of Sphinx used to connect the two temples, but over time the statues were eroded. The Government are now reconstructing the Avenue to it’s former glory and completion is all but finished. Following your tours, you will have free time in the evening to choose one of the recommended Optional Tours listed. Overnight at your Hotel in Luxor.

Day 02: Luxor West Bank Tours

After Breakfast at your Hotel, your Tour Guide will escort you to the West Bank of the Nile to visit the world renowned sites which Luxor is most famous for the archaeological digs. At the Valley of the Kings, you will visit the impressive colonnaded and terraced Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahri, which was built into a high cliff face and has graphics telling the story of Hatshepsut’s expeditions to the mysterious land of Punt. Then you go to the Valley of the Kings to see a selection of the beautifully decorated rock-cut tombs, many of which still display vibrant colour and breathtaking detail of deities and scenes from the Book of the Underworld. The most visited tombs have walkways and electric lighting, and the internal walls are protected by glass.(The 3 tombs you will visit are determined by the Government due to protecting the area and footpaths around and within the tombs). Passing by the huge twin statues known as the Colossi of Memnon for about 15 minutes. Lunch will be provided, then you will visit the Howard Carter House, home of the famous British archaeologist who discovered the Tomb of the Boy King Tutankhamun. This fascinating house still holds all of his maps, tools and photographs of his time digging in Luxor. Transfer back to your Hotel for time to relax or take an evening Optional Tour.Overnight at your Hotel in Luxor.

Day 03: Balloon Ride - Nile Felucca Sailing

An early start from your hotel where you will be escorted by vehicle to a meeting point to embark on your amazing Balloon Ride. Each balloon has a fully skilled and qualified Pilot who will take you through the safety checks before take off. Once you are airborne, you will see the glorious sun rising over the sandstone cliffs which give off an orange hue. Flying over the green delta farmlands and Nile River, overlooking the Tombs of the ancients, Colossi of memnon and Hatshepsut Temple. A truly wonderful lifetime experience. After your ride, you will return to your Hotel for a rest then in the afternoon, you will be collected to meet the Felucca on the Nile to sail across and enjoy the water views of Luxor until arriving at Banana Island. Once arrived, you will be shown around the plantation and get to sample the unique small Egyptian bananas and a refreshing drink. Back to the Hotel for relaxation. Evening Optional Tours available.

Day 04: Luxor Optional Excursions - Final Departure

Midday check out from your Hotel with free time of Optional Tours which include time to take the delightful morning Nile Cruise to visit Denderah Temple along the Nile with lunch included. Or still time to do the Luxor Museum of Antiquities and City Tour by Kallesh. Later you will be transferred back to Luxor Airport for Cairo, or to Hurghada by road.
