Day 1: Arrival Luxor - Dahabiya Nile Cruise

You will be met on arrival at Luxor Airport by our Memphis Tours Representative then transferred to embark on your superb Merit Dahabeya Nile Cruise. After lunch onboard your expert English speaking Tour Guide will accompany you to the Temples of Karnak and Luxor on the East Bank. Karnak Temple, which is the world's largest ancient religious site. The hypostyle hall with its colossal granite columns is one of Egypt’s famous landmarks. There will be free time to explore the different parts of the huge complex built during the reigns of various Pharaohs, then moving to Luxor Temple which was built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for ritual and festivals that was dedicated to the God Amon. Dinner and overnight onboard the West Bank in Luxor.

Day 2: Luxor Dahabiya Nile Cruise

After a delightful breakfast onboard, your Tour Guide will escort you to explore the fascinating and famous Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut temple and the Colossi of Memnon. The West Bank of Luxor was known as Ancient Thebes, overall one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. Visit the two colossal statues of Amenhotep III (Colossi of Memnon) and the impressive colonnaded and terraced Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahri, which was built into a high cliff face and has graphics telling the story of Hatshepsut’s expeditions to the mysterious land of Punt. Then you go to the Valley of the Kings to see a selection of the beautifully decorated rock-cut tombs, many of which still display vibrant colour and breathtaking detail of deities and scenes from the Book of the Underworld.The most visited tombs have walkways and electric lighting, and the internal walls are protected by glass.(The three tombs visited are determined by the Egyptian Government as to preserve them from the large flow of visitors, therefore are rotated throughout the year and cannot be confirmed as to which tombs prior to your visit). Following the tour, you will return for lunch onboard whilst Sailing to Esna with afternoon Tea on the Sundeck. Enjoy your first experience of the calm and tranquil life along the River Nile. Dinner whilst sailing, and a pleasant overnight stay beside one of the many peaceful islands.

Day 3: Dahabiya Nile Cruise - Edfu Temple Tour

Enjoy breakfast onboard whilst crossing Esna Lock and enjoy the fun sights of the local boatmen selling their wares to the passing tourists on the Cruise Boats. Sail to Edfu with Lunch during sailing before arriving at Edfu for a tour of the splendid Edfu Temple with your Guide. Edfu is the huge Ptolemaic Temple of Horus, the most complete and best preserved of the Egyptian Temples, consisting of many columns, halls, chambers and chapels. Two statues of Horus flank the twin towered entrance gate; and inside, one of the interesting inscriptions lists the titles of books (scrolls) held in the library. After your tour, afternoon tea whilst sailing on to Al Ramadi Island.Dinner on board and Overnight beside Al Ramadi Island.

Day 4: Dahabiya Nile Cruise - Sail to Aswan

Breakfast on board then a relaxing day sailing on towards El Sheikh Fadl Island with Lunch on board during sailing. Tea time and Dinner at El Sheikh Fadl Island. After dinner you will continue your sail on to Aswan under the lovely structure of Aswan Bridge, considered the ‘gateway’ to Nubian Aswan. Overnight on board near Aswan.

Day 5: Aswan Dahabiya Nile Cruise - Final Departure

Breakfast onboard Arrive to Aswan Early morning around 6am. After breakfast and arrival , your Tour Guide will take you on an informative tour to see the Aswan High Dam and Nubian Philae Temple. Aswan High Dam was built in the 1960’s to provide the much needed electricity and irrigation for Egypt. Nubia, the area that was flooded, experienced the biggest and most thorough archaeological excavations that Egypt has known. Then a visit to Philae Temple, one of the Nubian Temples rescued before the High Dam was built. Enjoy Philae’s long colonnades, towers and reliefs which include the last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions in Egypt. Disembarkation after your tours and transferred to Aswan Airport or Train Terminal.
