Then you go to the Valley of the Kings to see a selection of the beautifully decorated rock-cut tombs, many of which still display vibrant colour and breathtaking detail of deities and scenes from the Book of the Underworld. The most visited tombs have walkways and electric lighting, and the internal walls are protected by glass. Passing by the huge twin statues known as the Colossi of Memnon for about 15 minutes. Breakfast at your Hotel in Aswan and then you will be accompanied by your private Tour Guide and driver for the trip to Abu Simbel Temples from Aswan to see the two magnificent Temples considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt reflecting the glory and grandeur of the New Kingdom. The Egyptian Government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these Temples from the floods during the period of reconstruction when the High Dam was built. The Temple of Ramses II (also called The Sun Temple), was dedicated to the four universal Gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Ra, and to Ramses II himself. Also The Temple of Queen Nefertari (the beloved wife of Ramses). They are undisputedly one of the world's most breathtaking monuments, and Egypt’s second most visited tourist site, the Pyramids of Giza being on the top of the list, the most remarkable feature of the temple of Abu-Simbel is that the construction is oriented in a way that twice a year, the morning sun rays shine through the length of the inner temple cave and illuminate the statues of the four gods seated at the end of the cave, Lunch box will be served on board your vehicle. finally you will be transferred to your hotel in Aswan.

Day 4: Aswan Sightseeing - Final Departure

Enjoy breakfast at your Hotel in Aswan and then you will be escorted by your Tour Guide for a day tour in Aswan to begin by visiting the Aswan High Dam which was built in the 1960’s to provide the much needed electricity and irrigation for the country. Nubia, the area that was to be flooded, experienced the biggest and most thorough archaeological excavations that Egypt has known. Then we go to see the ‘unfinished Obelisk’ which still lay in the granite quarries which provided ancient Egypt with building materials. It would have been the largest piece of stone ever handled but when a crack was discovered it was abandoned where it was being hewn. Cross by boat to Angilika Island, to see the Temple of Isis at Philae which is one of the Nubian Temples rescued before the High Dam was built. Enjoy Philae’s long colonnades, towers and reliefs which include the last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions in Egypt. Lunch is included in this tour.
