Day 01: Arrive Aswan - Abu Simble Tour

You will be met and assisted by a Memphis Tours Representative and expert Tour Guide then transferred to the Temples of Abu Simbel. The two Temples of Abu Simbel with their unique style are considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt reflecting the glory and grandeur of the New Kingdom. The Egyptian Government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these Temples from the floods during the period of reconstruction when the High Dam was built. The Temple of Ramses II (also called The Sun Temple), was dedicated to the four universal Gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Ra, and to Ramses II himself. Also The Temple of Queen Nefertari (the beloved wife of Ramses). Lunch will be included, then you will then be taken to check in to your Hotel for some free time, then later, you will be escorted to the Temples for the amazing ‘Sound and Light Show’, said to be the best of it’s kind throughout Egypt. Overnight at the Hotel in Abu Simbel.

Day 02: Kalabsha Temple - Philae Temple

After breakfast at the Hotel, you will be transferred by road in an air conditioned vehicle to head to Aswan (approximately 3 hours), stopping enroute with your Tour Guide to visit Kalabsha Temple on the edge of Lake Nasser close to Aswan. Construction of the Temple began at the end of the Ptolemaic Dynasty and completed under the rule of the Roman Emperor Augustus. The result is an interesting combination of imagery that includes Egyptian and Roman themes with images of Roman Emperors and Pharaohs worshipping with the Egyptian Gods. The Temple was dedicated to the Nubian god Mandulis. .On arrival in Aswan, you will visit the Temple of Philae devoted to the two goddesses Isis and Hathor and one of the Nubian Temples rescued before the High Dam was built. Enjoy Philae’s long colonnades, towers and reliefs which include the last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions in Egypt. After your tour, you will check in to the Old Cataract Hotel. The rest of the evening is spent at leisure Overnight in Aswan.

Day 03: Aswan Sightseeing Tours

After breakfast at the Old Cataract Hotel, your expert Tour Guide will collect you for your tour of the Aswan High Dam, built in the 1960’s to provide the much needed electricity and irrigation for the country. Nubia, the area which was flooded, experienced the biggest and most thorough archaeological excavations that Egypt has known. Then on to visit the Unfinished Obelisk which still lies in the granite quarries that provided ancient Egypt with building materials. It would have been the largest piece of stone ever handled but when a crack was discovered it was abandoned where it was being hewn. Finally you will explore the Nubian Museum with it’s vast collection of Nubian antiquities along with a full history of the flooding of Nubia which caused the Nubians to move from their original lands after the building of the Aswan Dam. After your tour you will return to the Hotel for rest then a wonderful English Afternoon High Tea watching the sunset. Free evening to explore the City of Aswan and overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 04: Aswan - Final Departure

After breakfast at the Hotel, you will check out for your final departure.
