Your Tour Manager from Memphis Tours will pick you up from your Hotel in Marsa Alam by a private deluxe A/C vehicle to Aswan, approximately 5 hours from Marsa Alam. Arrive Aswan and begin with a tour of the Temple of Isis at Philae, one of the Nubian Temples rescued before the Aswan High Dam was built. Enjoy Philae’s long colonnades, towers and reliefs which include the last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions in Egypt. Then moving on to see the Unfinished Obelisk which still lies in the granite quarries which provided ancient Egypt with building materials. It would have been the largest piece of stone ever handled but when a crack was discovered it was abandoned where it was being hewn. Enjoy a tasty lunch at a local restaurant then continue your Aswan sightseeing tour by visiting the Aswan High Dam built in the1960’s to provide the much needed electricity and irrigation for the country. Nubia, the area that was to be flooded, experienced the biggest and most thorough archaeological excavations that Egypt has known. Then transferred to your Hotel for a smooth check in and enjoyable overnight stay.

Day 2 - Abu Simbel Tours / Marsa Alam
Early morning pick up from your hotel after breakfast for an amazing guided tour of the impressive Abu Simbel Temples, the main attractions being the great sun Temple of Ramses II and Temple of Queen Nefertari. Both Temples were discovered in 1813 it were almost completely covered with sand. Then both temples were moved in 1960 by the help of Egyptian Government and UNESCO to avoid the rising water of the Nile. Ramses II built the Temple mostly to honour himself as inside there is a mural depicting his famous victory at Qadesh battle where his army defeated their enemies. On the north of Ramses Temple, the Nefertari Temple  was built by Ramses II for his favourite wife Queen Nefertari who was amongst 200 other wives and concubines.
