Day 1: Arrive Hurghada, Red Sea Egypt

Welcome to Red Sea and Ancient Egypt! On arrival at Hurghada International Airport, you will be met and assisted by our Memphis Tours Representative then transferred by air conditioned vehicle to your resort at Hurghada Red Sea. On arrival at your 5 star Hotel, your representative will assist you with check in and inform you of your forthcoming information as to the Hotel, area and any optional activities you may wish to take part in during your stay. Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 2: Hurghada Red Sea Optional Tours

A full day to relax and enjoy the picturesque surroundings of the Red Sea with many optional activities and excursions available including diving and snorkeling with reputable diving centres, or a tour into Hurghada to visit the busiest resort on this side of the Red sea with many shops, restaurants, beaches and Boat trips to discover. Overnight at your Hotel in Hurghada.

Day 3: Hurghada Red Sea Optional Excursions

Another full day to relax at your resort with the optional activities available including diving and snorkeling with reputable diving centres, or a tour into Hurghada to visit the busiest resort on this side of the Red sea with many shops, restaurants, beaches and Boat trips to discover. Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 4: Hurghada to Luxor Nile Cruise

Today after breakfast,will be transferred to Luxor by air conditioned vehicle by road to Luxor to embark on your 5 star deluxe Nile cruise boat (Approximately 4 hours from your Resorts). Once arrived and checked in on your Nile Cruise Boat,After check in you will be taken with your Expert English speaking Tour Guide for a fascinating insight of the Temples of Luxor on the East Bank. Starting at Karnak Temple, the largest place of worship ever built. Its ancient name Ipet-isut means “The Most Sacred of Places”. The Temple or more correctly, the complex of Temples, was built over two thousand years ago by generation after generation of Pharaohs. Within the complex, the great “Hypostyle Hall” is an incredible forest of giant pillars.Karnak Temple was once linked to Luxor Temple by the spectacular ‘Avenue of Sphinx’ which is currently being reconstructed. and built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for ritual and festivals and dedicated to the god Amun. From here, you will move to Luxor Temple which was built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for rituals and festivals that was dedicated to the Gods.The famous Avenue of Sphinx used to connect the two temples, but over time the statues were eroded. The Government are now reconstructing the Avenue to it’s former glory and completion is all but finished. Lunch on the Boat then free time to explore or take an optional tour into Luxor City by Kallesh (horse and carriage) to discover the local area and Market, or a Felucca ride across the River Nile. In the evening there is a further optional tour of the famous Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple. Overnight in Luxor.

Day 5: Luxor Nile Cruise Excursions

This morning after breakfast on board, your Tour Guide will accompany you across to the West Bank of the Nile to visit the world renowned sites which Luxor is most famous for the archeological digs., At the Valley of the Kings, you will visit the impressive colonnaded and terraced Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahri, which was built into a high cliff face and has graphics telling the story of Hatshepsut’s expeditions to the mysterious land of Punt. Then you go to the Valley of the Kings to see a selection of the beautifully decorated rock-cut tombs, many of which still display vibrant colour and breathtaking detail of deities and scenes from the Book of the Underworld. The most visited tombs have walkways and electric lighting, and the internal walls are protected by glass.(The 3 tombs you will visit are determined by the Government due to protecting the area and footpaths around and within the tombs). Passing by the huge twin statues known as the Colossi of Memnon for about 15 minutes. Back to your Nile cruise for lunch whilst starting your wonderful relaxing sail on the River Nile. Take a seat or sunbed on the top deck in the afternoon (with afternoon tea included) to enjoy breathtaking views of daily life on the Nile unchanged for centuries with farmers, wildlife, and quiet villages. Passing through the large Lock at Esna and be entertained by the local boatmen tossing their wares up to the passing tourists on the boats. Arrive at Edfu for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples

Early breakfast on board the Nile Cruise before enjoying a visit with your Tour Guide to the well-preserved Ptolemaic Temple dedicated to Horus the Falcon-Headed God at Edfu. Sail to Kom Ombo to see the unique Temple of Sobek, dedicated to Sobek the crocodile God. Lunch and afternoon tea on board Continue sailing to Aswan under the impressive Aswan Bridge (gateway to Aswan). Overnight on board your Nile Cruise in Aswan.

Day 7: Aswan Nile Cruise Tours

After breakfast on your Nile Cruise boat, you will disembark then be escorted by your Egyptologist Tour Guide in Aswan for an amazing tour to visit the High Dam,built in the 1960’s to provide the much needed electricity and irrigation for Egypt. Nubia, the area that was flooded, experienced the biggest and most thorough archaeological excavations that Egypt has known. Then we go to see the ‘Unfinished Obelisk’ which still lies in the granite quarries which provided ancient Egypt with building materials. It would have been the largest piece of stone ever handled but when a crack was discovered it was abandoned where it was being hewn. Cross by boat to Angilika Island, to see Philae Temple, dedicated to the Goddess Isis, a structure rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser at the time of the High Dam's construction. Then you will be transferred back to your Nile cruise. Overnight on board your Nile Cruise in Aswan.

Day 8: Abu Simbel Optional Tour - Fly to Cairo

Today there is an early morning optional tour to Abu Simbel which is highly recommended as it is the 2nd most visited Pharaonic site after the Pyramids. The Huge Temple of Ramses II now sits on the edge of Lake Nasser after being moved stone by stone when the lake flooded and reconstructed to perfection. Along side is the Temple of Nefertari, the favoured wife of Ramses II. Disembarkation from your Nile Cruise Boat for your transfer to Aswan Airport to fly to Cairo. On Arrival at Cairo Airport, you will be met by our Representative and transferred to you Hotel in Cairo for check in and overnight stay.

Day 9: Pyramids and Cairo Tours

Today Tour Guide then taken on a fascinating day tour to visit the famous Giza Plateau, home of Egypt’s greatest attractions to visit The Great Pyramids, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world including the Great Pyramid of Cheops, Middle Pyramids of Khephren, the little one of Mykerinos and The Mysterious Sphinx, the Father of Terror for the ancient pharaohs, this tour includes visit to the Valley Temple facing the great sphinx. Then on the way you will have Lunch, then you will enjoy a visit to the world-renowned Museum of Egyptian Antiques that was built in neo-classical style designed by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon which exhibits a collection now over 120000 masterpieces ranges from pre-dynastic era, Pharaonic era to the Greco-Roman period in Egypt, learn about the great Egyptian civilization and the art of Mummification.Finally, you will transfer to spend some time at Khan El Khalili famous Bazaar and old market in Cairo,then you will be transferred back to your Hotel to check in for an overnight stay. *There is the opportunity to see the optional famous Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids in the evening.

Day 10: Old Coptic Cairo Sightseeing

Breakfast at your Hotel in Cairo before being collected by your Guide for a tour of 2 sites offering an insight into the past History of ancient rule in Egypt. Starting with the Christian heritage in Coptic Cairo including some of the early religious monuments of the city such as the Hanging Church or the Suspended Church, this Basilica Church was named for its location on top of the south gate of the Fortress of Babylon The Church became the centre of the Christian Church of Egypt. Lunch will be included before moving on to visit the Citadel of Saladin which hosts the magnificent Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque high on a hill overlooking the Old City of Cairo and Pyramids in the distance for stunning views. The Citadel was built in Turkish style and very similar to the Blue Mosque in Turkey and simply considered to be one of the landmarks in Cairo.Free time in the evening to explore further or relax. transferred back to your Hotel to check in for an overnight stay. *There is the opportunity to see the optional famous Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids in the evening.

Day 11: Cairo to Alexandria Optional Tour

Today you have the wonderful opportunity as an Optional Tour to visit the Old Roman City and Port of Alexandria. An early start after breakfast from your Hotel. A transfer from your Hotel in Cairo with a Tour Guide in an air conditioned vehicle to Alexandria (approximately 3 hours by road). Once arrived in Alexandria, you begin your day of tours to include the Catacombs of Kom ash-Shuqqafa ( known as the largest Roman burial site in Egypt). You will also visit Pompey’s Pillar, a Roman triumphal column, the largest of its type constructed outside of the imperial capitals of Rome and Constantinople. Another main attraction for you to explore is the Citadel of Qaitbey built in the 1480's by Sultan Qaitbey on the site of Alexandria's ancient lighthouse and one of the seven wonders of the ancient World. Lunch will be served during your tours in a quality restaurant. A visit to the famous ‘Bibliotheca’ is a must see attraction known as the the Alexandria Library, a huge modern structure hosting millions of books and is the scholarly focal point in all of Egypt. Finally you will be transferred back to Cairo to return to your Hotel and overnight stay in Cairo.

Day 12: Cairo - Fly Back Home

Breakfast at the Hotel with some free time in Cairo before being transferred back to Cairo International Airport Terminal for your flight home.
