Day 01: Arrive Cairo ‘Welcome to Egypt’

Welcome to Egypt. On arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and assisted by one of our Memphis Tours Representatives and escorted by air conditioned vehicle to you Hotel in Cairo. Once checked in, your Representative will inform you of the expected itinerary during your Egypt and Jordan Tour. Through all tours you will have expert English speaking Tour Guides who are happy and able to answer any questions you may have. Time to relax and overnight in Cairo with an optional tour of the Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids at Giza. Please ask your Representative if you require tickets. Overnight Cairo.

Day 02: Pyramids and Museum Tour

After breakfast at your Hotel, your Tour Guide will meet you at a pre arranged time to escort you for an informative tour to the famous Sakkara, the first Pyramid ever built in Egypt followed by the Step Pyramid of King Djoser and the Teti Pyramid. After Sakkara, you will travel to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, to visit the Colossal statue of Ramses II. Then on to explore the Giza Plateau to see the Great Pyramids of Giza, Great Pyramid of Cheops, Middle pyramids of Chephren and the smallest Pyramid of Mykerinos. Included will be a visit to the mysterious Sphinx and the Valley Temple with an optional visit to the Solar Boat Museum to admire the boat that was used to carry the Pharaoh’s mummified corpse across the Nile then buried at the foot of the Pyramid for his use in the afterlife. After lunch in a quality local restaurant, you will be transferred to the world renowned Egyptian Museum of Antiquities in Cairo, built in neo-classical style and designed by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon. The museum's vast collection of over 120,000 artifacts ranges from pre-dynastic era, through the Pharaonic era to the Greco-Roman period of Egypt. Amongst the most famous items which you may see are the funerary treasures of the child King Tutankhamun, the colossal statues of the heretic king, Akhenaten, and the only surviving image of Khufu, creator of Egypt's Great Pyramid. Visiting the museum is a great introduction to learning about the ancient Egyptian civilization, including their famous art of mummification. *Please Note - There is an additional charge to enter the Solar Boat Museum and the Mummification Room at the Egyptian Museum. Please ask your Guide if you require tickets. Transfer back to your hotel for a peaceful overnight stay in Cairo.

Day 03: Cairo to Tel Basta and BelbisTours

After breakfast you will be accompanied by your personal Tour Guide and driven in an air conditioned vehicle to begin your discovery of the Holy Family Journey in Egypt. The first stop is the town of Babastis (now known as Tel- Basta), approximately 100 Kms north-east of Cairo. Here, Jesus gushed forth a spring of water to drink at the Holy Well Then a visit to Belbeis (ancient Philippos). The Holy Family made their way north-eastwards to Belbeis (approximately 55 kms from Cairo).Here,they rested in the shade of a tree which came to be known as "The Virgin Mary's Tree' Here is also the Church of Saint George which you have time to look around and explore. Back to Cairo after lunch at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Cairo.

Day 04: Cairo to Sakha and Samanoud Tours

Breakfast at your Hotel in Cairo, then escorted on a tour with your Guide by road to Sakha (approximately 140 Km North of Cairo). First stop of the day will be the Church of the Virgin Mary, a place renowned for its Christian community in the Middle Ages. Here is the significant and wonderful chance to see a footprint of Jesus Christ himself. Then transfer to Samanoud where the holy family crossed the River Nile to the city of Samanoud inside the Delta. It was said that the people here received them in a pleasant and welcoming manner, therefore were blessed by Jesus Christ. Here, you will visit Saint Abanoub Church and the site of a Holy Well which the Holy Family drank from. Lunch will be included on your way back to back to Cairo. Overnight stay at your Hotel.

Day 05: Cairo to Wadi Natroun Monastery Tours

Breakfast at the Hotel then accompanied by your personal Guide to visit the picturesque area of Wadi Natroun, a desert area said to have been blessed by Jesus Christ. Here, the Holy Family crossed the western side of the river Nile to the south to Wadi AL-Natrun. According to tradition the Virgin Mary and her son the Christ child hid in this valley during their time in Egypt Wadi Al- Natroun is considered one of the most famous valleys in Egypt and home of asceticism and worship, with four Monasteries which still stand today. Your visit wil start with Deir al-Baramus, the oldest of the 4 surviving Monasteries, and considered the most isolated Proceeding to the Monastery of Deir Anba Bishoy, named after Saint Bishoy whose body is buried in the Monastery. On to Abu Makar Monastery, built by St. Makarius the Great in the 4th century. You will end your trip with Deir El-Suryani which is the both the smallest and most compact of the 4 monasteries, yet considered the most attractive. Lunch during your way back to Cairo. Overnight stay in Cairo.

Day 06: Cairo Coptic Churches Tours

Breakfast at your Hotel in Cairo then accompanied by your personal Guide to visit the district of Cairo known as Coptic Cairo, famous for it’s old Churches. Starting with a visit to the Hanging Church (known as the Suspended Church because it was built on the southern gate of the Roman Fortress. Logs of palm trees and layers of stones were constructed above the ruins of the Roman fortress to be used as a fundament and also has a unique wooden roof in the shape of Noah’s Ark). The Church became the centre of the Christian Church of Egypt.The on to explore the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, erected upon the northern tower of the Fortress of Babylon which can be reached through a flight of stairs and crowned by an impressive dome. They say that Saint. George was imprisoned close to the church and martyred there. The Holy Family passed by this area of Cairo whilst on their journey through Egypt. A transfer to Mostorod to see the Virgin Mary Church, visit the Holy well and Holy Mary Sycamore tree at Matariya on the outskirts of Cairo where the Holy Family rested under the shade and Jesus create a Well there which they drank from and is now a popular destination among medieval pilgrims. Lunch at local restaurant in Cairo. Overnight stay in Cairo.

Day 07: Cairo to El Minya Tours

Breakfast at your Hotel in Cairo, then you will enjoy The holy Family Trip to South of Egypt (known as Upper Egypt). The Holy Family moved southwards by boat on the River Nile. Firstly before heading South, you will visit the famous Church of the Holy Virgin Mary which lies at Maadi and as the last point in Cairo that they went to before heading South. It is said that a miraculous nature occurred on Friday 12th of March 1976 when Holy Book was carried by the lapping waters of the Nile and washed ashore below the church, the open page declaring " Blessed be Egypt my people ".The Bible is now in the sanctuary of the church for all to see. You will then transfer South to EL Minya approximately 3 hours drive in an air conditioned vehicle. Once arrived in El Minya, you will explore the beautiful church of Deir Al Adra, said to be one of the most beautiful in Egypt as it is hewn out of the rock cliffs beside the river at Gabal Al-Teir in Minya. Overnight in Minya.

Day 08: Tour to Dendera Temple - Transfer to Luxor

Breakfast at your Hotel in Minya and then continuing on the route of the Holy family by first visiting The White Monastery, built in 400 AD by St. Senouda, who constructed the monastery using blocks from ancient Egyptian buildings. The White Monastery has a Basilica Church with interior columns from ancient Egyptian structures. Wonderful paintings adorn the walls and ceilings dating back many centuries.The Monastery used to house over 2000 monks. A further tour to the Monastery of Al Muharraq in Assiut (Which is known as the Monastery of the Holy Virgin at Al Qusiya). Here the Holy Family spent around six months mostly dwelling in caves which eventually became the Coptic Alter during the Coptic period Following this day tour, you will transfer by road to to Luxor (approximately 5 hours drive) en route, stopping at Dendera Temple in Qena, to visit the Temple of Hathor known as the Goddess of love and joy. The temple is located in Dendera which is situated at the north of Luxor. Transfer to your hotel in Luxor and Overnight stay in Luxor. Time to relax or explore Luxor City at night with an optional tour of the Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple.

Day 09: Fly Luxor to Dahab (Via Sharm El Sheikh Airport)

Breakfast at your Hotel in Luxor then escorted to Luxor Airport to fly to Sharm El Sheik (usually via Cairo). Once arrived at Sharm El Sheikh, you will be met and greeted by a Representative then transferred by air conditioned vehicle to Dahab ( approximately 1 hour 45 minutes). Once arrived at Dahab, you will check in to your Hotel for a relaxing 2 day break before moving on. Take this opportunity to really enjoy the lovely blue Red Sea coast with optional excursions to dive or snorkel. Dahab is considered the best location in the Red Sea for underwater exploration. Overnight at your Hotel in Dahab.

Day 10: Dahab Red Sea Optional Excursions

After your breakfast at the hotel, feel free to relax or explore the local area around Dahab with many restaurants, beaches and sightseeing. Optional tours available upon request. Overnight in Dahab.

Day 11: Dahab to Saint Catherine Monastery

After breakfast at the Hotel in Dahab, you will check out and be escorted by road, to the area known as Saint Catherine. Here you will check in to your Hotel and have the rest of the day to walk around, enjoy the scenery and relax. An early night in preparation for the climb up Mount Moses early hours. Overnight St Catherine.

Day 12: Moses Mount and St Catherine’s - Taba

Early start from your Hotel in St.Catherine with a breakfast box included for your climb.The climb up Moses Mount, will takes around 3 hours to reach the 7,498-foot peak following the Path of the Prophet Moses. A stairway of nearly 700 steps which has to be achieved by foot in order to reach the Chapel of the Holy Trinity on the peak of Moses Mount and is the spot where Moses received the Ten Commandments. A truly enriching and memorable experience.The panoramic and stunning scenery of the sunrise over the Mountains of Sinai are truly magnificent. After descent, you will visit the Monastery of St.Catherine. Within its imposing walls rests a Citadel like no other, incredibly rich in important religious and historical structures. Among its treasures is a library of ancient manuscripts and icons second only to the Vatican itself, and a 6th Century Church reputed to lie directly on the site of the Burning Bush. Quite simply, the Monastery is a defining feature of the Holy Land. Later on you will be transferred to your Hotel in Taba for a well earned rest and relaxation overnight.

Day 13: Egypt to Jordan Holy Trail Tours - Petra Tour

An early Breakfast at your Hotel, then a transfer by road to Petra in Jordan in an air conditioned vehicle. You will go via the Israeli Border into Jordan. You will visit the Ancient and most famous site known as Red Rose Rock City, which was home of the Nabatean Civilisation established around the 6th century B.C., a Nomadic tribe who settled in the area and rock caves of Petra. You will have the chance to either take a horse ride through the canyon known as the Siq) or by foot if you prefer. Walking or riding until you reach to the most magnificent monument called the Treasury. Other monuments are Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle. Overnight stay in Petra with transfer to your Hotel.
Please note* There is a fee to cross from Egypt through the Israeli Border into Jordan (approximately $32 - 20 British Pounds) and a taxi fee from the Israeli Border to Jordan (approximately $25 - 16 British Pounds). Once through the crossing, you will be met and assisted at Jordan by a Representative for a transfer to Petra

Day 14: Kerak, Madaba and Mount Nebo - Amman

After breakfast at your Hotel, you will drive in your air conditioned vehicle to Kerak for a visit to the famous Crusader castle built by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem. Following this, moving on to Madaba, home to the Byzantine church of St George, the floor of which is decorated in what remains of the oldest map showing the trade routes through the Holy Land, also a mosaic, and absolutely stunning piece of art. A visit to the first Mosque in the modern world, dedicated to the Christian Prophet Jesus Christ is a tribute to two religions appreciating each other’s beliefs. Then finally your day ends with a stunning panoramic View from Mount Nebo where Moses was said to have looked down across the Promised Land and is even rumoured to have been buried here. A short drive to Amman the Capital will allow you to check in to your Hotel and relax after a long day of sightseeing.

Day 15: Amman, Jordan - Fly Back Home

After breakfast at the Hotel in Amman, a final day of either relaxation or optional tours of Amman in this unique and modern capital city of Jordan. Optional tours include the citadel hill where you will discover the Temple of Hercules and also a Byzantine church. If you prefer, just relaxing and doing your own exploring, then some last minute souvenir shopping or try the royal falafel in Down Town Amman is something to consider. Later you will be transferred to Queen Alia International Airport Amman for your flight home.
