Day 1: Arrive Cairo ‘Welcome to Egypt’

On this Cairo and Nile Cruise tour, You will be met and assisted upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport by your Tour Manager from Memphis Tours, who will accompany you to your hotel in Cairo for check-in and a free welcome drink. There you will be introduced to your Tour Leader for your Cairo and Nile Cruise Round Tour, who will explain what to expect on your visit. Your Tour Leader will be your point of contact throughout your tour to Egypt and will give you details of how to contact him at any time whilst in Egypt under the care of Memphis Tours. Throughout your holiday, in addition to the Tour Leader, you will meet a variety of English-speaking Tour Guides, who have been chosen for their expertise on each of the areas you are visiting. After check-in, you are free to spend the rest of the day/evening at your leisure.

Day 2: Pyramids and Cairo Sightseeing

Breakfast at your Hotel in Cairo, then your Tour Guide will accompany you to the famous Giza Plateau to visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinus and The Great Sphinx. You will then transfer to the what is known as the Valley Temple facing the great statue. Lunch will be served at a quality restaurant in Cairo. After a nice lunch, you will be transferred to the world-renowned Egyptian Museum of Antiquities which includes the Treasures Room of the boy King Tutankhamun. A drive then to Old Islamic Cairo, where you will be able to explore Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s oldest bazaar for your chance to buy some handcrafted Egyptian souvenirs and gifts. At the end of the day tour, back to your Hotel and overnight stay in Cairo.

Day 3: Fly Cairo to Luxor - Nile Cruise Round Trip

Check out from your Cairo Hotel early morning, then you will be transferred to Cairo Airport for a flight to Luxor where you will be met and assisted on arrival by a Representative then transferred by an air-conditioned deluxe vehicle to embark on your Nile Cruise in Luxor to start your round tour. Once checked in, lunch will be served on board your Nile Cruise before setting sail to Esna. Free time at leisure with Afternoon Tea and Captain's Welcome Cocktail on board the Nile cruise ship. Dinner and overnight on board Nile cruise in Esna.

Day 4: Edfu Temple - Sail to Kom Ombo

Once you have enjoyed your breakfast on board the Nile Cruise, you will arrive at Edfu in the morning and be escorted with your Guide to visit to Horus Temple in Edfu, the best-preserved ptolemaic cult temple in Egypt dedicated to Horus the Falcon-Headed God at Edfu. After the tour, back to your Nile cruise boat to continue sailing to Kom Ombo. Lunch on board with afternoon Tea and Free leisure time. Dinner on board your Nile Cruise with the chance to dress up in traditional style Egyptian party dresses for the Galabya party. Overnight in Kom Ombo.

Day 5: Aswan Nile Cruise Tour

Early sailing to Aswan while enjoying your Breakfast on board the Nile Cruise. Once arrived in lovely Aswan after passing under the Aswan Bridge ( gateway to Aswan), you will be taken to enjoy a day tour, first to the Aswan High Dam, built in the 1960’s to provide the much-needed electricity and irrigation for Egypt. Nubia, the area that was flooded, experienced the biggest and most thorough archaeological excavations that Egypt has known. Then on to the ‘Unfinished Obelisk’ which still lies in the granite quarries which provided ancient Egypt with building materials. It would have been the largest piece of stone ever handled but when a crack was discovered it was abandoned where it was being hewn. Following this, an exploration of the Temple of Philae, a Nubian Temple rescued before the High Dam was built. Enjoy the Temple’s long colonnades, towers and reliefs which include the last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions in Egypt. Back to your Nile boat with lunch on board the Nile cruise, then enjoy sailing on the Nile by a traditional Felucca boat around the Kitchener’s Island, a botanical garden dedicated to the British General Lord Kitchener after World War 1. Back to your Nile cruise for dinner on board with Belly dance and Egyptian folkloric show. Overnight in Aswan.

Day 6: Aswan to Abu Simbel Optional Tour

Breakfast on board your Nile cruise with free time to explore Aswan City and it’s colourful incense and spice market. Highly recommended is the optional tour to the Abu Simbel Temples. Driving from Aswan to Abu Simbel by a private air-conditioned vehicle. Arrive at Abu Simbel on Lake Nasser to be in awe of the huge structure of the temple of Ramses II, dedicated to the four universal Gods Ptah, Re-Harakhte, Amun-Re, and to Ramesses II. The second temple is dedicated to the beloved wife of Ramesses, Nefertari, Then the drive back to Aswan to return to your Nile Cruise. Lunch and free leisure time in Aswan. Dinner on board and a lively colourful Nubian Show of dancers and whirling dervishes. Overnight in Aswan.

Day 7: Sail to Kom Ombo Temple - Sail to Esna

Leaving Aswan and sailing on to Kom Ombo while enjoying breakfast on board. Once arrived at Kom Omo, a guided tour of Kom Ombo Temple shared by two gods Sobek and Haeroris. After the tour, back to the Nile Cruise to set sail to Edfu with lunch on board. Continue sailing to Esna, to include afternoon tea. Dinner and overnight on board your Nile Cruise near the lock at Esna.

Day 8: Luxor Nile Cruise Excursions

Sail to Luxor with breakfast on board, then you will be taken to the West Bank of the River Nile to visit the two colossal statues of Amenhotep III (Colossi of Memnon), and then visit the Valley of the Kings, where many magnificent tombs were discovered (including the Boy King Tutankhamen), These tombs were carved deep into the desert rock, richly decorated and filled with treasures for the afterlife of the Pharaohs and here you will visit 3 tombs. (The three tombs visited are determined by the Egyptian Government as to preserve them from the large flow of visitors, therefore are rotated throughout the year and cannot be confirmed as to which tombs prior to your visit). Continue your tour to visit Hatshepsut’s Temple at El Deir El Bahary, this impressive Temple is dedicated to the Queen Hatshepsut the only female Pharaoh rises out of the desert plain in a series of terraces and merges with the sheer limestone cliffs that surround it. Back to your Nile cruise for lunch and afternoon tea on the ship with free leisure time and overnight stay on board. There is an optional Sound and Light show at the Temple of Karnak. (Highly recommended).

Day 9: Luxor Nile Cruise Tours - Fly to Cairo

Relax while watching daily life on the banks of the Nile in Luxor while having breakfast on board the Nile Cruise before disembarkation. Then leave your Nile Cruise Boat to enjoy a visit to Karnak Temple, which is the world's largest ancient religious site. The hypostyle hall with its colossal granite columns is one of Egypt’s infamous landmarks. There will be free time to explore the different parts of the huge complex built during the reigns of various Pharaohs, then moving to Luxor Temple which was built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for ritual and festivals that was dedicated to the God Amon. Later on, you will be transferred to Luxor Airport to fly back to Cairo where you will be met and assisted by our Representative, then transferred for an overnight stay at a Hotel near Cairo Airport.

Day 10: Cairo - Fly Back Home

Breakfast at the hotel in Cairo with free time at your leisure, then you will be transferred to Cairo International Airport for your final departure.
