Itinerary

Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, a Memphis Tours Egypt Representative will greet you and escort you to your hotel, where you'll meet your tour leader who will brief you on your Cairo Luxor Tour itinerary. After check-in, you're free to relax or opt for the sound and Light Show at the Pyramids, with the assurance that throughout your journey, you will be guided by expert English-speaking Tour Guides selected for their specialized knowledge of each destination.

After breakfast, you will be met in reception at the Hotel by your expert Tour Guide who will accompany you on the first day to the famous Pyramids in the area. You will begin with the famous Giza Plateau to visit one of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World - the Great Pyramid of Khufu (called Cheops by the Ancient Greeks). Also on the plateau are the Pyramids of Khafre (Chephren) and the smallest Pyramid Menkaure (Mykerinos). The plateau is as famous for its mysterious structure, the Sphinx, as it is for the Pyramids, where you will visit the Valley Temple. (Lunch is included throughout the day). Then you will visit the New Grand Egyptian Museum, alternatively called the Giza Museum, which is an archaeological treasure trove in Giza, Egypt, approximately 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from the renowned Giza pyramid complex. Back to the Hotel for an overnight stay in Cairo.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

An early breakfast, then you will be transferred to Cairo Airport (Domestic Terminal), for your flight to Luxor ( approximately 1 hour). Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a Memphis Tours Representative, then introduced to your Tour Guide who will escort you on a tour of the East Bank of Luxor. Here you will visit Karnak Temple, a fascinating Temple and the largest place of worship ever built. Its ancient name Ipet-isut means ‘The Most Sacred of Places’. The Temple or more correctly, the complex of Temples, was built over more than two thousand years ago by generation after generation of Pharaohs. Within the complex, the great ‘Hypostyle Hall’ is an incredible forest of giant pillars. (Lunch included in a quality restaurant). Then continue your Cairo Luxor Tour and visit the majestic Luxor Temple which was built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for rituals and festivals and dedicated to the God Amun. After the tour, you will taken to your Hotel for an overnight stay in Luxor. There is an optional tour of the Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple which tells the story of the two Temples of Luxor. Or free time to explore Luxor City and its market.

Continue your Cairo Luxor Tour by breakfast, then you will check out of the Hotel, then with your Guide start your exploration of the West Bank in Luxor, most famous for its archeological digs where the boy King Tutankhamun and 62 other Pharaohs were discovered and known as the Valley of the Kings. These Tombs were carved deep into the desert rock, richly decorated, and filled with treasures from the afterlife of the Pharaohs and included a visit of 3 Tombs. You will also visit the two enormous and impressive Colossi of Memnon the two colossal statues of Amenhotep III. A visit to Hatshepsut Temple at El Deir El Bahary is included. This impressive Temple was dedicated to Queen Hatshepsut the only female Pharaoh, rising out of the desert plain in a series of terraces and merges with the sheer limestone cliffs. (The three tombs are determined by the Egyptian Government to preserve them from the large flow of visitors, therefore are rotated throughout the year and cannot be confirmed as to which tombs before your visit). After your tours, you will be transferred back to Luxor Airport to fly back to Cairo then transferred to your Hotel. Free leisure time in Cairo and overnight.
