Itinerary

Day 1: Explore Lake Qaroun, Wadi Hitan & Wadi El Rayan

Your Memphis Tours guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo for an exciting journey to El Fayoum, located about 95 km southwest of the capital. Begin your adventure at Lake Qaroun, one of the world’s oldest natural lakes and the third largest in Egypt — a paradise for birdwatchers with its diverse migratory species. Continue to the awe-inspiring Wadi Hitan (Valley of the Whales), a UNESCO World Heritage Site within the Wadi El Rayan Protected Area, where 40-million-year-old fossils of early whales, sharks, turtles, and other marine life reveal Earth’s fascinating evolutionary story. On your way back, stop at Mudawara Mountain to admire its stunning desert views, then visit the picturesque Wadi El Rayan Waterfalls, Egypt’s only waterfalls linking two serene lakes set in a natural depression below sea level. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before relaxing for the night — either camping beneath the stars or at a comfortable hotel in Fayoum.

Day 2: Discover Qasr Qaroun & Karanis – Return to Cairo

After breakfast, visit Qasr Qaroun, located about 50 km northwest of Fayoum City. Explore its remarkably preserved Ptolemaic temple and the remains of the ancient Graeco-Roman city of Dionysias. Continue to Karanis, an impressive archaeological site from the Roman era, featuring two temples dedicated to crocodile gods and the remnants of a Roman bath. Visit the small museum displaying pottery, jewelry, glassware, and other artifacts unearthed in the area. After your exploration, return to Cairo, concluding your memorable two-day Egypt day tour filled with history, culture, and desert beauty.

Our trip to Egypt was truly special. While every ancient site was breathtaking, the most memorable moment came during our Nile cruise. Our guide, Ahmed, saw our genuine curiosity about local life. He arranged for us to take a small boat to a remote village, where we shared mint tea with a local family. Sitting on their rooftop, we watched the sunset over the river and listened to their stories,

A Fantastic Journey with Unexpected Costs

I was worried about the long drive, but the private vehicle was so comfortable and our guide was an absolute expert. He made the time fly by with incredible stories and details about the sites. Seeing the Valley of the Kings in person was a spiritual experience.

A Day That Felt Like a Week

I have always wanted to do a hot air balloon ride, and Luxor was the perfect place. The team was so organized from the hotel pick-up to the smooth landing. The flight itself was so peaceful, and the view of the Nile and the fertile lands was beautiful. A must-do.

A Dream Come True

Our two teenagers were initially skeptical about a "history trip," but this tour won them over completely. The sheer scale of the Pyramids and the mystery of the Sphinx blew them away. The hot air balloon ride over Luxor was an unforgettable highlight, giving them a real thrill. The guides were great at balancing historical facts with interesting stories, making it fun for the whole f

An Unforgettable Journey Through Ancient Egypt!

I was a bit nervous about the height, but once we were up there, all my fear was gone. It was so quiet and tranquil.

Simply Magical

Our group of friends chose this tour, and it was a phenomenal experience. The guides were charismatic and funny, making the days of sightseeing feel like a fun outing rather than a history lesson. We especially enjoyed the horse-and-carriage ride at Edfu, which was a fun and memorable part of the trip. The cruise ship offered a great space for us to relax and socialize in the evenings.
