Light snacks and refreshments can be enjoyed in the open-air Prince Charles Café with sea views. Decorated with antiques and frescos, the Queen Elizabeth Hall offers fine dining and wine.
- Currency Exchange Service
Here in Egypt, the local currency is known as the Egyptian Pound. It can often be difficult to get smaller notes so it is advisable when you can, to change 200, 100 and 50 notes when you can to either 5, 10, or 20 Pound notes. The Hotel reception will offer you an exchange service and their will be a small commission charge on changing currencies (they will take British Pounds, US Dollars and Euros). There are ATM machines and Banks in and around the City of Alexandria which will also take a small charge for using the machine overseas.
In Alexandria,It is not advisable for tourists to travel on local transport such as the small minibuses or local larger buses. They are very crowded and you will probably end up getting lost if you do not know your way around. The Borg El Arab International Airport of Alexandria lies approximately 40 km (25 miles) southwest of Alexandria and hosts internal (domestic) flights within Egypt along with some Charter flights arriving from other outside destinations. From Cairo International Airport, the Windsor Palace Hotel Alexandria is approximately a 3 hour drive.If you have not already booked your transportation from the Airport and return, then working with the Hotel, Memphis Tours can arrange the transport for you in our modern air conditioned vehicles with a representative to assist you on arrival and return to and from the Windsor Palace Hotel Alexandria Please click on this link for further information.
