Overview:

Situated on the peaceful West Bank in Luxor, sits this absolutely stunning Arabesque Palace styled Hotel Al Moudira with a real ‘1920’s’ theme giving you the feeling of stepping back in time to High class cocktail parties and an ambience of sheer luxury. The Al Moudira has unique interiors with ornate carvings, paintings and patios with decadent design from the days of the Arabian Nights to satisfy all tastes. Painted with natural pigments and a mix of Syrian, Lebanese and Egyptian designs and furnishings which date back to the Italo- Ottoman period and also used as a film set for scenes from Agatha Christie’s ‘Death on the Nile’

With a choice of three delightful and inspiring settings, the restaurants give off a colourful atmosphere and tranquil environment, Breakfast is served on the terrace with the sun’s rays to waken you or the pretty ‘orange’ themed breakfast area. 

The Great Room - This wonderful Ottoman designed dining room offers an attractive ambience with domed ceilings and a cuisine of Mediterranean and Eastern flavours to tempt the tastebuds. 

The Eastern Bar - Offering a relaxing soft seating area with sweet perfume aromas and exotic Egyptian dancers whilst sipping cocktails and taking in the culture of the olden times. 
 
Swimming Pool Pavilion - Your time to relax around the Pavilion Pool with quiet surroundings and the choice of tasty snacks such as mezes, pizza, grills and salads. 
 
  • Currency Exchange Service 
Here in Egypt, the local currency is known as the Egyptian Pound. It can often be difficult to get smaller notes so it is advisable when you can, to change 200, 100 and 50 notes when you can to either 5, 10, or 20 Pound notes. The Hotel reception will offer you an exchange service and their will be a small commission charge on changing currencies ( they will take British Pounds, US Dollars and Euros). There are ATM machines and Banks in Luxor city just across the Nile  which will also take a small charge for using the machine overseas.
 
  • Transportation 
There is local transport in and around Luxor, and from the Hotel Al Moudira, just a short Ferry or felucca ride across to the East bank.Various options such as the local ‘Kalesh’ (horse and carriage) which are commonly used by tourists wanting a pleasant ride around Luxor. There are also the local minibuses used by the locals, safe and very cheap but not really used by the tourists.Memphis Tours provides an excellent transport service with spacious vehicles taking you around Luxor, Airport and  further afield. 
 
  • Airport to Hotel and Return
The Luxor Airport lies approximately 18 minutes (30km) from the Sofitel Winter Palace Hotel in Luxor  and hosts internal (domestic) flights within Egypt along with international Scheduled and Charter flights arriving from other outside destinations. From Luxor Airport, the Sofitel Winter Palace Hotel  is approximately a 21 minute drive. If you have not already booked your transportation from the Airport and return, then working with the Hotel, Memphis Tours can arrange the transport for you in our modern air conditioned vehicles with a representative to assist you on arrival and return to and from the Sofitel Winter Palace Hotel Please click on this link for further information.
