SS Sudan Nile Steamer Cruise: The Steam Ship Sudan, an authentic steamship built at the dawn of the 20th century, brings turn-of-the-century travel to life again. Sailing between Aswan and Luxor on a 10 day Nile Cruise sailing, or an Aswan to Luxor 9 day sail (both trips beginning in Cairo).  A boat inhabited by the memory of  King Fouad who received it as a gift in 1885; the memory of the Belle Époque travellers who used it, or that of Hercule Poirot who Agatha Christie had walking its decks in her writings. Consisting of 21 cabins including 5 suites.

Arrival Cairo

Welcome to Cairo, Egypt
Your Tour Manager will meet and assist you at Cairo International Airport  and then escort you to your Hotel by exclusive air-conditioned deluxe vehicle. At the Hotel your Tour Manager will assist with a smooth check-in and review your holiday itinerary with you to establish and confirm pick-up times for each tour. Overnight in Cairo.

Pyramids - Sakkarra Tours

After breakfast you will be accompanied by your personal expert Egyptian Guide to Giza Plateau to visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinus - Famous Sphinx and Valley temple facing the great statue. Additional visit to the Solar Boat in front of Cheops Pyramid (extra ticket on spot). Lunch included during the tour and then proceed to Saqqara area to visit Saqqara Complex and first pyramid ever built (Djoser Pyramid). Move to Memphis; Old kingdom's capital and famous Necropolis. Overnight in Cairo.

Cairo Sights - Fly to Aswan

Check out after breakfast at your Hotel in Cairo and then you will be escorted by your private Guide to visit the Egyptian Museum, Treasures room for the child King Tutankhamen, alongside many other fascinating artifacts. Additional visit to the Mummies Room at the Museum (extra ticket on spot). Lunch throughout the tour at a local restaurant, then moving to visit Saladin Citadel including Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque inside. Continue to Coptic Cairo to visit the Hanging Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue. Combining fascinating history with shopping in lively Khan El Khalili Bazaar, which dates back to 1382.Then you will be transferred Cairo Airport to fly to Aswan, where you will be met and assisted and transferred to your Hotel and overnight stay in Aswan.

Sudan Steam Nile Cruise

Early morning optional excursion to Abu Simbel (highly recommended) to discover the great Temple of Abu Simbel during the reign of Ramesses 11 and miraculously moved with little damage when the Aswan Dam was constructed in the early 1900’s. Then transferred back to Aswan with direct transfer to your cruise ship in order to board the ship before lunch. Time to settle into your cabins. Gourmet lunch on the ship. First afternoon visit is to the Temple of Philae. Free time in the colourful and vibrant Souk of Aswan. Evening option, the "Sound and Light" show at Philae (with a French reading of the author André Castelot). First evening and dinner spent a board the ship at the Port of Aswan.

Sudan Steam Nile Cruise - Kom Ombo & Edfu Tours

Early set off for Kom Ombo, approximately 48km North of Aswan. Discover the Temple of Kom Ombo which resides on the summit of an Acropolis, a very unique structure to be found in Egypt. It is in fact a double Temple, dedicated to two divinities: Sobek, the crocodile God, and the God Horus in his normal form. We continue towards Edfu, approximately 145km to the north of Kom Ombo. Gourmet lunch on board. Afternoon visits to Edfu Temple, constructed under the Ancient Empire and reconstructed during the Ptolemaic and Roman period, it is dedicated to the falcon God Horus. We set off at the beginning of the evening to Esna, roughly 46km north of Edfu. Second night and dinner on board while docked at Esna.

Sudan Steam Nile Cruise - Luxor East Bank

After passing through the lock at Esna, we navigate towards Luxor, about 60km north of Esna. Containing infinite treasures, the large city of  Upper Egypt, Luxor,remains the symbol of economic strength and Egyptian wealth. Gourmet lunch on ship. The end of the afternoon is dedicated to the discovery of the river banks of Luxor: first the Temple of Karnak, built to exhibit the glory of the God Amon Rä  then a visit to the Temple of Luxor, in which construction began under Amenophis III and continued under Ramesses II. In this ‘Southern Harem’ that sheltered the Goddess Ipet-Amonet, the Egyptians celebrate the festival of Opet. Today this Temple is found in the heart of the city. At last dinner and your last night on board the ship in Luxor.

Sudan Steam Nile Cruise - Luxor East Bank

Early departure for the morning adventure and discovery of the Necropolis of Theban,  visit some of the tombs in the Valley of Kings and the Valley of Queens. Discover the funeral temple of Ramesses III, the best conserved Temple in the Necropolis. Transfer after the visit to your hotel in Luxor for persona free leisure time and overnight stay in Luxor.

Luxor - Fly to Cairo

Optional hot air balloon flight over Luxor and the Valley of The Kings on the West bank of the River Nile  followed by enjoyable breakfast the hotel in Luxor with free personal leisure time and some optional sightseeing tours  available in Luxor. along with a visit to Dendera and Abydos Temples . Later you will be transferred to Luxor Airport to fly back to Cairo, where you will be met and assisted and transferred to your hotel for free personal leisure time in Cairo and overnight stay.
