5 Days - Luxor / Aswan

Day 1: Arrival Luxor - Oberoi Philae Nile Cruise

On arrival at Luxor International Airport, you will be met and assisted by our memphis Tours Representative and transferred to your Oberoi Philae Nile Cruise for embarkation. Once checked in, you will enjoy a delicious lunch on board before being collected with your expert English speaking tour Guide to visit the famous Karnak Luxor temples in Luxor. Back to the Oberoi Philae Nile Cruise for evening dinner with time for an Optional Tour of the Karnak Sound and Light Show if you would like to make the most of your time in Luxor. Overnight docking in Luxor.

Day 2: Luxor Nile Cruise Tours - Sail to Esna

An early breakfast to enable you to have ample time to explore the West bank of Luxor, the most famous excavational sites in the world known as the Valley of the Kings (the Royal Cemetery to 62 Pharaohs) where the magnificent Tombs were discovered including the famous boy King Tutankhamun (included in your visit). These Tombs were carved deep into the desert rock,richly decorated and filled with treasures from the afterlife of the Pharaohs.(The tombs visited are determined by the Egyptian Government as to preserve them from the large flow of visitors, therefore are rotated throughout the year and cannot be confirmed as to which tombs prior to your visit). A visit to the Temple of Madinat Habu and Dier El Madina, a very special workman’s village where the original craftsmen built and decorated the tombs of the Pharoahs, then on to the two enormous and impressive Colossi of Memnon, the two colossal statues of Amenhotep III. Back to your Nile cruise boat for lunch, spa time, and sailing to Essna. Dinner on board and overnight in Esna.

Day 3: Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples

A leisurely start with breakfast and sailing along the Nile to Edfu with excellent views of daily life unchanged for centuries. Once in Edfu, you will visit the Temple of Edfu, an awe inspiring Temple dedicated to the God Horus (falcon headed God) and one of the best preserved Temples along the Nile. Back to your Nile cruise for lunch whilst sailing to Kom Ombo to visit the Temple of Kom Ombo,Temple of Kom Ombo standing on high grounds overlooking the Nile. It differs from other Temples because of its double entrance, each one is dedicated to a divinity: ‘Haroeris’ with his falcon head and ‘ Sobek ‘ with it’s crocodile head. The Temple of Kom Ombo was built in honor of these two deities, Sobek being known as the God of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris or the ancient falcon-headed Horus. Dinner and Overnight in Komombo.

Day 4: Aswan Nile Cruise Tours

Early sail to Aswan whilst enjoying breakfast and views on board. You will sail under the large impressive structure of Aswan bridge which is the gateway into Aswan City. All day until early afternoon to enjoy the Spa and relaxation time before heading off with your Tour Guide to visit the famous Aswan High Dam. This will be followed by an exploration of Philae Temple, a Nubian Temple rescued before the floods, then enjoy a visit to the Nubian Museum by motor boat. Day 1: Arrival Aswan - Oberoi Philae Nile Cruise

On arrival at Aswan Airport or train Station, you will be met an assisted by a Memphis Tours Representative and taken by air conditioned vehicle to embark and check in to your Oberoi Philae Nile Cruise, then enjoy lunch onboard. Day 2: Aswan Sightseeing - Kom Ombo Temple - Edfu

Breakfast on board, then your expert English speaking tour guide will escort you on a visit to discover the Aswan High Dam, built in the 1960’s to provide the much needed electricity and irrigation for the country. Nubia, the area which was flooded, experienced the biggest and most thorough archaeological excavations that Egypt has known.Then moving on to explore the Temple of Philae devoted to the two goddesses Isis and Hathor and one of the Nubian Temples rescued before the High Dam was built. Enjoy Philae’s long colonnades, towers and reliefs which include the last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions in Egypt. Spa time on board whilst sailing down the Nile to visit the Temple of Kom Ombo,Temple of Kom Ombo standing on high grounds overlooking the Nile. The Temple or more correctly, the complex of Temples, was built over more than two thousand years ago by generation after generation of Pharaohs. Within the complex, the great ‘Hypostyle Hall’ is an incredible forest of giant pillars. Also a visit to the Luxor Museum of Antiquities. The artifacts  are a  collection of masterpieces of pharaonic art with several galleries devoted to spectacular groups of statues found in 1989 hidden beneath the floor of the Luxor Temple. A new annex is dedicated to Egypt's Golden Age (the New Kingdom, ca. 1550-1070 BC) and includes two Royal Mummies. Day 3: Abydos Temple - Sail Back to Luxor

An early breakfast on your Luxury Nile Cruise Boat, then a guided tour to explore the impressive Abydos Temple which was the head of the God Osiris- the God of the Underworld and part of his body was buried there according to the legend of ancient Egyptians,. In Abydos you will visit the famous Temple of King Seti I – the founder of Abydos Temple which was completed by his son King Ramses II. The beauty of this Temple almost feels like an apology and dedication to the following Gods Osiris, Isis, Horus, Amun Ra, Mut and Khonsu. Back to your Nile cruise and sail back to Luxor with lunch and some Spa time before heading off in the afternoon for your final tour of the day to Luxor Temple, (once linked to Karnak Temple by an avenue of Sphinx’s and currently in the final stages of reconstruction).
